March Newsletter

Just a short note about a few upcoming events.

Pupils in second class will be making their First Confession next Tuesday in St. Mary’s Church, Cloghan. The ceremony will take place at 2.00 pm and will be streamed live here

As part of the roll out of the new primary language curriculum teacher will be attending Inservice on the afternoon of March 16th. All pupils will be finishing at 12.00 pm on the day. School transport companies have been informed of the early finish and will run at the earlier time.

A new Parents’ Association has been established and their first outing will be organising a Coffee Morning on Wednesday, March 16th. They would like to invite you to come to the school for a cup of tea or coffee and a bun. Our hope is that we can raise funds for the Irish Red Cross Crisis Appeal for Ukraine. We are asking our pupils to bring in €2 for a drink and snack on the day. (Wearing Blue and Yellow is optional!!) We wish our new Parents’ Association well and hope they can count on your help and support over the coming year.

We will not be running the school based July Programme this year. If your child is eligible you may avail of the Home-Based July Programme. We will send home the relevant forms as soon as they are available from the Department.

Finally, as restrictions are lifted, we are now planning our school tours and other trips and activities that have been prohibited for the last two years. We hope to visit some local venues and make up for opportunities missed since 2020.
