Lumcloon N.S. is a vertical mixed school. The school has two mainstream classroom teachers, three teachers for classes for ASD pupils and a Special Education Teacher. We have 7 SNAs. At the commencement of the school year 2024-2025, 34 pupils were enrolled in the school.

Opening and Closing Times
The school opens to receive pupils at 9.10 a.m.
Classes assemble at 9.20 a.m. and formal instruction commences at 9.40 a.m.
Classes end each day at 2.00 p.m. for infants and 3.00 p.m. for all other classes.

Mission Statement
Lumcloon National School strives to provide a stimulating environment in which each child can develop academically, spiritually, intellectually, socially, and physically. We strive to help each pupil to develop a realistic and positive self-image, thus enabling him or her to be a happy well rounded individual.
Catholic Ethos of Lumcloon National School
Lumcloon National School is a co-educational Catholic primary under the patronage of the Bishop of Ardagh and Clonmacnois. As such the school aims at promoting the full and harmonious development of all aspects of the person of the pupil: intellectual, physical, cultural, moral and spiritual, including a living relationship with God and with other people. The school models and promotes a philosophy of life inspired by belief in God and in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Catholic school provides religious education for the pupils in accordance with the doctrines, practices and tradition of the Roman Catholic Church and promotes the formation of the pupils in the Catholic Faith.
