Our new outdoor classroom was installed today. The classroom is eight benches, arranged in a circle. We will now be able to go outside for some of our classes when the weather is good. It is also a place where we can sit and chat during break time or listen to stories read by the teacher. We hope we have plenty of fine days
This year we held our Active School Week just after the June Bank Holiday. The weather forecast wasn’t too promising but we were very lucky and the only day we couldnt spend a lot of time outside was Thursday. We raised our flag on Proclamation Day. Sixth Class read the 1916 Proclamation and raised our new Irish Flag. The weather was lovely and the flag flew proudly in the strong breeze. After raising the flag we sang Amhrán na bhFiann and listed the seven signatories of the 1916 Proclamation. Back inside, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth classes read their Proclamations for a New Generation

Our Christmas show this year is set in a museum where all sorts of magical things appear to be happening. Some lively pupils arrive but are not too interested in the tour, they are more interested in singing songs and telling poems. We also find that the exhibits are acting strangely when they shouldn’t be acting at all and one of them is forcing
We had a great day at the Phelim Kerin Memorial Run in Lough Boora Discovery Park. The weather was great and people started to arrive around 10.00 am to register for the run. On June 14th there will be an enjoyable and energetic day out in aid of our school at Lough Boora Discovery Park. Lumcloon Parents’ Association have organised the Phelim Kerin Memorial Run where you can run, jog or walk a scenic 5 kilometer route around the picturesque Lough Boora Discovery Park with refreshments afterwards in Lough Boora Inn. Congratulations and well done to our Second and Sixth Classes. Second made their First Holy Communion on Saturday, May 9th. They were very lucky with the weather and had a lovely day for all the fun and games after the ceremony. Some people were wearing funny hats to school so the teachers decided we should all wear some wacky hats, the wackier the better. We could wear the funny we already had or make new ones. We wore our Wacky Hats to school the day we closed for our Easter holidays. It was great fun.
